Day 1
Depart from Home
Today you board your flight and begin your New Zealand adventure. En route to New Zealand, you cross the International Dateline, losing a full day.

Day 2
Auckland, New Zealand - Tour Begins
Your tour begins in the “City of Sails,” Auckland. Rated one of the best places in the world to live, Auckland fuses Polynesian culture with gleaming harbors and a modern city feel. Upon your arrival see America’s Cup Village, vibrant Queen Street, the Auckland Harbour Bridge and spectacular views from the top of Mt. Eden, a dormant volcano, during your panoramic city tour. Later enjoy a welcome dinner with your fellow travelers.

Day 3
Auckland - Rotorua
This morning depart for Rotorua, the center of Maori civilization and home to numerous geothermal springs. The Maori people are the indigenous people of New Zealand, arriving here more than 1,000 years ago. En route make a stop at Waitomo Glowworm Caves, and enjoy a guided tour that will take you through stunning underground scenery commencing with the impressive Cathedral. Next, visit the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve where you’ll see amazing geysers, hot springs, hot mud pools and the Kiwi bird! See craftsmen at work in a typical Maori village and take part in an interactive demonstration about the Maori dress and weaving process. You may want to practice saying "Kia ora" (or "hello" in Maori), since both Maori and New Zealanders are delighted by visitors attempting the Maori language. Tonight you''ll enjoy a home hosted dinner with a New Zealand family. Hear about the customs and traditions of the people in this area while building a friendship you are sure to remember.

Day 4
Rotorua - Queenstown
You leave the North Island behind and fly South to beautiful Queenstown.

Day 5
Queenstown
A leisurely day in Queenstown offers several options to enhance your vacation. Shop or people watch in the village or perhaps take the optional "Safari of the Rings" which takes you through the majestic Remarkable Mountains and the breathtaking Queenstown countryside where the Lord of the Rings movies were filmed.

Day 6
Queenstown - Mt. Cook - Christchurch
Traverse the spectacular countryside to New Zealand’s most famous national park, Mt. Cook. En route, enjoy a stop at a local fruit stand to gain an inside look at the produce of New Zealand. Mt. Cook is one of the most impressive mountains in the world. You may choose to view the massive glaciers and extensive snow-covered mountain top terrain on an optional glacier flight-seeing tour (weather permitting), or perhaps enjoy the park during a nature walk. This evening, arrive in the historic city of Christchurch.

Day 7
Christchurch
Visit a Canterbury farmyard to see the workings of the farm including a sheep shearing demonstration and herding, plus learn first hand how this New Zealand family farm operates. This afternoon, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an optional tour of the International Antarctic Center, the gateway for both American and New Zealand Antarctic expeditions. Tonight, dine inside the restored Riccarton House mansion and learn the history of the first family of Christchurch.

Day 8
Christchurch - Tour Ends
Have time to explore the city of Christchurch this morning before your flight.
